Feedback from Client: Australia Day BC and BBQ Brekky (Fro Febfast)

"Hi Gary, thank you for your follow up and your call yesterday. I had a truly great time on Australia day and it was definitely the perfect way to start and enjoy the public holiday. The event was a great deal of fun and I didn't think I was working that hard until the next two days when I really started to feel it. But it felt wonderful.

The whole event was really well planned and made for a thoroughly amazing experience. I would definitely be interested in any future similar one off events like that too should they ever come up again"

All Scientific and Stuff: Guess what!! Exercise Improves Life Expectancy

yup and that's regardless of weight change..

A recent study has found that improvements to your level of fitness – or even just doing enough to prevent it from deteriorating – can reduce your risk of death, irrespective of whether you lose any weight.

Researchers from the Department of Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health in Columbia, studied 14,345 men (average age 44 years, predominantly white and middle class), observing fitness status and BMI (Body Mass Index) changes.

A link between lower death risk and maintaining or improving fitness was found. Each unit of increased fitness achieved by the study subjects over a six-year period (measured as metabolic equivalent of task – MET) was linked to a 19 per cent reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, and a 15 per cent reduction in overall risk of death. A decrease in fitness was linked to higher death risk, but changes to BMI were not associated with alterations in risk.

Duck-chul Lee, PhD, the study's lead researcher and Lead study author and physical activity epidemiologist, said, ‘This is good news for people who are physically active but can't seem to lose weight. You can worry less about your weight as long as you continue to maintain or increase your fitness levels.’

So what now?

This study is another in a long line presenting data that your body has an inbuilt ability to fight disease simply through daily movement, this can be further amplified by good nutrition. I know it can be frustrating to see pauses in your fat loss but remember that every workout counts and adds on the last. Providing it's at least weekly, if you're only knocking up a sweat once a year. You may want to look at stepping it up.

2012 Enter the Gazzinator...

I entered into 2012 with a mission of Action...MASSIVE Action, whilst some aspects had progressed very nicely in 2011 others area just hadn't seen the changes I wanted.

So in just a few weeks I've set up my new office, smashed out a tonne of both catch-up and forward planning work, created a new fat-loss nutrition plan and with the help of Guy and the feedback of the juggernauts have reinvented our Bootcamp programs to make them even better.

But the most recent standout for me was last thursday when with just 3 days promotion I had 18 awesome people turn up for my fat-loss nutrition seminar and many more both locally and overseas ask me when I could run another or pass on the session notes to them because they couldn't make it (actually I was blown away with the amazing response:).

Now I have run numerous talks, seminars and workshops before but this one was all theory and without a slideshow to back me up or being able to dish out push-ups or burpees I found it a little intimidating (and may have regressed to a shyer form a couple of times during the talk)...

BUT

I didn't back down from the challenge, in fact because it was such a challenge I was spurred to take it on with no excuse for delay even though I faced a very tight deadline and had a tonne of other things that needed to be achieved in the same week.

By taking action though I did it and that was just in my first official week back at work...

If you have something that is on your list but everytime you could have done it you paused too long.

Don't let it happen again, be a hero for yourself and take Massive action because with just a little effort and a little courage you may just surprise yourself with how well you do and how much better you'll feel after.

Kind Regards,

The Gazzinator;o)
